Avant Homes begins work on £20.5m, 70-home development in Rotherham

Avant Homes has started construction on a 7.25-acre site in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, to deliver 70 new-build homes with a gross development value (GDV) of around £20.5m.

Located just three miles east of Rotherham town centre on Brecks Lane, the development will comprise a mix of three, four and five-bedroom homes and feature eight of Avant Homes’ design-led house types.

Prices of homes range from £294,995 for a three-bedroom detached property to £419,995 for a five-bedroom detached house. The first homes are being sold off-plan from Avant Homes’ Sorby Park sales office in Waverley.

Called Brecks Lane Park, the development received planning permission in August last year. The overall build programme is estimated to take approximately two years.

Of the 70 homes being built, 25 per cent have been designated to affordable housing. Avant Homes has also committed
to a community contribution of more than £220,000 towards local education and transport, including bus services and sustainable travel.

The showhome is due to open this summer with the first homes set to be ready for occupation in August.

Avant Homes West Yorkshire currently has eight live developments ranging from Wakefield to Waverley with many more
due to start as the business continues to implement its growth plans.

The Wakefield-based business is part of the Avant Homes Group, one of the leading private developers of residential property in the UK.

In addition to Yorkshire, Avant Homes has six other regional businesses operating within Scotland, north east England, North Yorkshire, East Midlands, West Midlands and a Central office covering South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire areas.
