Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks extend fee free mortgage offer

{mosimage}A fee free mortgage boost for first time buyers and home owners looking to remortgage or switch to Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks has been extended until Tuesday 31st July 2012.

The fee free offer, which is now available until the end of July, represents a saving of up to £999, the banks said in a statement.

The Banks launched the first time buyers' offer in May and last month extended it to home owners looking to remortgage or switch to a Clydesdale or Yorkshire Bank mortgage.

‘The Banks fee free mortgage offer is designed to help people find the right mortgage to suit their individual needs without having to pay an arrangement fee and we have had a great response to the offer so far,’ said Steve Reid, retail director for Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks.

‘Now the offer has been extended until the end of July we anticipate an even greater uptake from buyers who want to take advantage of this saving,’ he added.

The Banks remain committed to helping home owners take the first step onto the property ladder. Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks offer a three year rate fixed at 5.99% for buyers with a 5% deposit and a three year fixed rate at 4.99% for buyers with a 10% deposit.

In addition, customers re-mortgaging from another lender won't have to pay any legal or valuation fees and may be interested in a five year deal fixed at 3.79% for a 65% loan to value mortgage.

Among the first new house buyers to benefit from Yorkshire Bank's fee free mortgage offer are Terri Sparks and her fiancé, Andrew Johnson, from Sheffield.

Terri, a 20 year old shop assistant, and Andrew, a 25 year old welder, are getting married in August and have been saving for two years for a deposit on their first home together.

Impressed by the Bank's fee free offer the couple took advantage of the short term deal and saved £599 by taking Yorkshire Bank's First Time Buyer 95% LTV at a rate of 5.99%.

Terri and Andrew will pick up the keys to their new three bedroom home in North Sheffield at the end of July.
