‘I am delighted to be opening our latest office in Asia Pacific, in Jakarta. This follows closely on our recent opening in Myanmar and further office openings in China and Taiwan, and is a testament to our commitment to continued growth in Asia,’ said Chris Marriott, chief executive officer of Savills South East Asia and board director of the Indonesian operations.
The opening also marks the formalisation of the firm’s partnership with Property Connection Indonesia “PCI), a real estate business with a well established position in the local market and a strong reputation for retail consultancy and leasing services.
‘This is another addition to our existing strong Asian network and is in line with our strategy to develop a long term presence in markets where we see growth potential and an opportunity to provide international advisory services to local clients,’ said Jeremy Helsby, group chief executive for Savills plc.
The new office in Jakarta will be headed by Jeffrey Hong, technical advisor at PCI, who will be a member of the board of commissioners.
PCI is the leading retail advisory and leasing agency and the team brings with them considerable experience and an extensive knowledge of the Indonesian property markets. Jeffrey Hong, Rosaline Lie and Juliana Manua and their team at PCI have leased over 16 million square feet of retail malls.
‘The Savills network of 500 associates and offices worldwide will benefit from the local knowledge which PCI brings to the organisation. This new addition will increase the Savills Asia Pacific office strength to 47 operations across 12 countries in the region,’ said Robert McKellar, Savills Asia Pacific chief executive officer.
