Landlords expect tax and legislation to get worse

Three quarters (72%) of landlords expect tax obligations to get worse in future, Monmouthshire Building Society research has revealed.

Meanwhile over half (53%) think legislation around tenancy and eviction will get worse for landlords.

Landlords are generally negative about the economy.

As it stands 45% expect the economy to get worse, with just 23% thinking it will get stronger.

In these conditions, just 30% of landlords are actively looking to grow their portfolio.
