Over 50 new build homes have now been occupied by their owners at a development currently being built in a north Derbyshire village.
Miller Homes is building 100 homes at its Smalley Chase development, on land off Meadow Drive in Smalley, near Heanor, and has now completed construction work on and handed keys over to 54 of the properties on the site.
The national housebuilder is delivering 70 private homes as well as a further 30 homes being built as affordable housing as shared ownership or affordable rent properties.
Alastair Parsons, area sales director for Miller Homes Midlands, said: “There are several key milestones we always work towards during the lifecycle of any new homes development and reaching the halfway point remains a significant signpost to us that the scheme is well on its way to completion.
“Having reached that moment at Smalley Chase, the team on site both in construction and sales are rightly taking the time to appreciate the work that has gone into this development so far, while continuing to look ahead to the remainder of the project and how we can now successfully deliver the second half of the site for our new residents in Smalley.

In addition to the new housing in Smalley, Miller Homes is also providing a sizeable area of public open space to the south of the site, and a locally equipped area of play for children and families north of the development.
The developer is also contributing more than £700,000 into local services via the Section 106 agreement for the Smalley Chase development, as agreed with Amber Valley Borough Council as part of the planning consent for the new housing scheme in Derbyshire.
Miller Homes is building a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes at Smalley Chase, where prices currently start from £269,000 for a three-bedroom, detached house.
