Now, any house you move into will be new to you, but what we’re talking about is moving into a completely new property. Where no one has ever lived. A completely blank canvas, just for you.
So, why should you move into a new property? Here’s some food for thought…
Money saving
When you move into a second hand property, you may have to keep spending to get it the way you want it. You might need to do certain renovations, make big changes or maybe just cosmetic touches to the décor; but these can all start to add up. When you move into a new house, you won’t need to make any of these changes so there won’t be any added cost eating away at your budget. What you pay for is what you get.
Energy efficient
New homes are typically more energy efficient than older properties. In most instances they’ll have better insulation, come with double glazing and generally hold the heat better than properties that have been standing for a long time. This will instantly make you more energy efficient and will likely save you some money when it comes to household bills.
Blank canvas
Some people even opt to purchase a property that hasn’t even been build yet – referred to as ‘off plan’ properties. While that may represent a leap too far for some, when purchasing a new build you may still have the benefit of a blank canvas on which to stamp your own individual personality. You won’t need to worry about the potential bad taste of the previous owners, you can usually make all the decisions on how it’s decorated, adding those little personal touches. Many new home developers will also enable you to make decisions on the finish of the kitchen and bathroom instantly making it feel like your home as soon as you move in.
Move in fast
This is especially important if you’re a first time buyer, and with a new property you won’t be involved in a property chain at all. You won’t need to worry about anyone else selling their home and can move in as soon as you’ve got your mortgage sorted and completed on the property. In some instances this can be done in a matter of weeks.
