Home to half the Republic's population, Santiago is the largest and most African island of the archipelago. Sao Francisco beach is one of the best on the island, and the superb new Morabeza Resort is just launching in a stunning location on the beachfront. The new international airport has also opened on the island and this will have a major impact on tourism levels.
