Winkworth Crouch End office acquired by property duo

Abbie Greisman and Robert Upton have acquired the Crouch End branch of Winkworth, bringing a combined 50 years of property industry experience to the north London franchise.

Robert Upton has worked in the property sector for over 30 years, starting as a negotiator in Islington before acquiring and expanding a two-office estate agency in Greenwich and Blackheath into a three-branch operation.

Abbie Greisman has spent over 20 years in the property industry, including time at Savills in residential research before moving into residential sales in Islington, where she worked as a fee earner.

Franchise model over independent operation

The pair, who are business partners and have been in a relationship for eight years, opted for the franchise model rather than establishing an independent agency.

Greisman said: “While we considered going independent, meeting Winkworth showed us the franchise offered the ideal balance – the independence of running our own business, backed by the strength and reputation of an established brand, which would have taken years to build on our own.”

She added: “Taking over the Crouch End office is a fantastic opportunity for us. We know the North London market so well, having worked and lived there for many years.”

Upton stated: “We have both spent our entire professional lives working in property and we look forward to working with Winkworth and the excellent support on offer to help us to run a successful business. We would also like to look to expansion in the future.”

The acquisition represents a continuation of the franchise expansion model in the UK estate agency sector, with experienced operators choosing established brands over independent launches. The Crouch End office will serve the local residential sales, lettings and property management market.
