The development of 237 homes in Taunton, Somerset, has been given the go-ahead by planners, with work on the first phase of development set to start shortly.
Nerrols Grange, which is an extension to the Northwalls Grange development, is set to be created in Taunton by housebuilders Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes.
Andrea Pilgrim, sales director at Barratt Homes, said: “This is great news for those wishing to settle in this area.
“We think very carefully before deciding where to build new properties – and we know demand here is very high.
“We’re thrilled to be playing our part in bringing a whole host of new homes to people in Taunton – which has been a popular location for us in the past.”
Planning permission means work will support around 700 new jobs over the lifetime of this development which is close to good transport links, local schools and amenities.
As work gets underway, Nerrols Grange will provide roles for tradespeople, subcontractors and sales advisers – and these are set to be filled mostly by local people.
Between the two housebuilders, Nerrols Grange will offer a range of two, three, four and five bedroom house designs.
