Bellway submits plans for 440 new homes in Ipswich

Bellway has submitted its plans for a major housing development which would bring 440 new homes to land off Westerfield Road in Ipswich.

The plans have been submitted to Ipswich Borough Council and include proposals to provide additional land for a new primary school and for an expansive new village green.

The development is proposed for land which lies to the south of Westerfield Railway Station and to the west of Westerfield Road.

The land is designated for development within the new Ipswich Garden Suburb. Bellway acquired the site in February 2021.

The garden suburb will span 482 acres of land at the northern edge of Ipswich, with the space to accommodate 3,500 homes and the supporting infrastructurerequired for the new community.
