Anna Horne, a sales negotiator at Chester estate agency Cavendish, has been appointed to the committee of the Chester Association of Property Professionals (CAPP).
Horne replaces David Adams, managing director of Cavendish, who stepped down from the committee at the association’s AGM after serving for 16 years. Adams held the position of chair in 2025 before transitioning to the role of past chair this year.
Family connection to the association
Horne’s father, Alex Horne, previously served as chair of CAPP and remains a longstanding member of the association. Her colleague at Cavendish, Annie O’Brien, lettings development manager, currently serves as the committee’s membership secretary.
Adams commented: “I am delighted to be passing the baton to Anna, who will bring with her fresh ideas and a desire to continue promoting the property profession in Chester. I have enjoyed my decade and a half on the committee, in particular being given the honour of serving as its chair.”
About CAPP
The Chester Association of Property Professionals was established in November 1949 at Chester’s Blossoms Hotel, originally operating under the name The Chester Association of Auctioneers, Estate Agents and Valuers. The organisation describes itself as the oldest collaborative association of its kind in the sector.
The committee supports its members through continuing professional development training, social events and an annual dinner. While such professional associations have historically focused on networking and standards, the property sector has faced increased regulatory pressures in recent months, with letting agents reporting significant revenue impacts from new legislation.
Horne stated: “I am thrilled to have been asked to join the CAPP committee and am looking forward to helping to ensure that it continues to go from strength to strength and remains as important and invaluable as ever to its members.”
Cavendish was founded in 1993 and currently employs more than 30 staff across its estate agency and lettings offices in Chester, Mold and Ruthin.
