Construction work at Bellway’s pioneering The Oaks development in Kings Norton has now finished.
The landmark scheme was launched in September 2019 and has seen 171 homes built off Parsons Hill, which includes a range of two, three and four-bedroom houses, with 17 affordable properties for rent or shared ownership.
The Oaks was a flagship project for Bellway’s Artisan Collection, which combines traditional craftmanship and attention to detail with the very latest construction techniques.
All Artisan Collection homes available at the site sold out last year and the style can now be seen in Bellway developments across the country.
Ben Wright, Managing Director of Bellway West Midlands, said: “It is a special moment for the West Midlands team to see work at our flagship site in Kings Norton come to an end.
“From the on-site staff to the wider division, everyone played their part in turning this former industrial site into a vibrant, new residential community, which will be enjoyed for years to come.
“All homes across The Oaks are now sold and final properties are being handed over to buyers imminently as part of this significant delivery of housing in Kings Norton. Our range of two, three and four-bedroom homes shows our commitment to catering for all homebuyers – whether you are entering the market for the first time, or looking to scale up or down from a previous property.
“The demand for houses within the development shows how impressed people were with The Artisan Collection – a collection which was developed by listening to customer feedback and then delivering the highest standard of craftmanship.”
The site, which is located just seven miles from Birmingham city centre, was previously visited by Bellway CEO Jason Honeyman to mark the launch of the Artisan Collection in 2019.
The Oaks has been built on former industrial land which had been vacant for some years. Construction work began early in 2018.
As part of its planning agreement, Bellway has built 17 affordable homes at the development and contributed £110,000 towards play facilities at Kings Norton Park.
Although The Oaks is now sold out, Bellway is building more new homes across the region, including at Lucas Green development in Shirley, only six miles away.
