Cala Homes has acquired a residential development site with a gross development value of £110m at Mindenhurst Village, Deepcut, in Surrey, to provide 237 homes.
Deepcut Village is set to deliver more than 1,200 homes as part of a new community with plans for a primary school, sports pitches and new village pub.
Situated on Mindenhurst Plateau, the site is located on the former grounds of the British Army’s Princess Royal Barracks.
Freddie Webber, managing director at Cala Homes Thames said: “Mindenhurst Village is a fantastic development which will help create a vibrant new community in Deepcut and we’re really excited to be a part of it.
“We’ve already delivered 215 homes as part of the development and we’re excited to have unlocked the potential to deliver more high-quality homes through this acquisition.
“The deal is testament to our confidence in the market and subsequent appetite to proactively invest in high-quality residential sites across Surrey and its surrounding counties.”
The site was purchased from the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and is allocated for housing in Surrey Heath Borough Council’s Local Plan. Outline planning consent to build 237 homes on the land, including 36 affordable homes, has already been secured.
