Energy efficient homes available at St Michael’s Park development

With the energy price cap set to rise significantly again this October and the UK’s cost of living crisis continuing to deepen*, energy efficient homes are highly sought-after for those looking to keep energy costs down this winter. Dandara’s St Michael’s Park development in Stewkley, Buckinghamshire is now over 90% reserved, and buyers are encouraged to act fast, with just four energy efficient homes, including the show home, remaining in this phase.

With new energy regulations expected to be introduced which would require all properties to have an EPC rating of C or above, buyers at St Michael’s Park avoid the need for an expensive retrofit as the homes come with an array of energy efficient features, including: waste water heat recovery, insulated external doors and double glazed UPVC windows.* Thanks to these features, the homes have an EPC rating of B, whilst the average property in England and Wales is rated D; buyers of older properties would have to fork out at least £6,155 to retrofit just a small mid-terrace house.*

Rachel Pepper, Head of Sales at Dandara Northern Home Counties, commented: “As energy prices are set to rise again, we have seen higher interest across our developments from those looking to cut down on energy costs – particularly here at St Michael’s Park where there are plenty of energy efficient features included as standard. The development has been exceptionally popular with local families looking for larger homes that won’t require an expensive retrofit to meet more stringent EPC regulations which are likely to come into place in the next few years to help the UK meet its net-zero goals.

“With an expensive winter ahead, we would encourage buyers to act fast to ensure they don’t miss out on securing their bill busting energy efficient home in time for the new year.”

Not only will buyers be able to save on energy costs, but great incentives are available giving buyers the opportunity to receive up to £10,000 towards their own tailor-made package including stamp duty, legal fees, deposit, energy bills and more.

Now available for reservation at the development, just a ten-minute drive from Leighton Buzzard, is two of The Chartwell house types, which cost £655,000, plus a Chartwell show home. The show home will come complete with show home fixtures and fittings. Also on offer is the newly released The Kingsley, which is priced at £730,000.
