Germany is poised for opportunities for property investors

German cities have the highest rate of rental property. The country has the highest rate of people who live in rental property and therefore the lowest rate of home ownership. For the property investors who enjoy buy to let opportunities, this can be an ideal investment area.

As reported by About Property, Top Immobilien managers Michael Schmidt explained, "At the moment there is no reason for tenants to buy a flat, because rents are cheap. When they buy the property, they have to pay the interest on repayments – and at the moment, rents are cheaper."

The country is poised for opportunities for property investors. In a recently released survey issued by PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Urban Land Institute, which is a non profit organisation that represents real estate developers, several German cities made the top ten list of hot investments.

The top ten in Europe's investment cities includes Berlin at number 9, Frankfurt at number 7, Munich at number 4, and Hamburg at number 3.

Investments into these German cities have been high, and the emerging markets in many areas have allowed for investment to continue to develop.

The buy to let market is just one sector that makes investing here ideal.
