UK buyers look towards Italian property market

The Italian property market offers benefits over the UK market, though there are still some difficulties here. For example, one good thing about this market is the ease of knowing that the property sale is happening (here, the preliminary contract signed by the buyer and the seller locks both parties into the agreement.)

There are some troubling concerns though, most of which stem from nearly ancient (several hundred years old) laws in place governing the property buying here. Still, there are some excellent opportunities for investors, and because all foreign investors are treated the same as Italian national buyers, the process of buying property is not as difficult.

New developments are happening here, too. For example, the Global Property Group (commonly known as The GPG) is working to develop detached villas that are built to be eco friendly in the southern portion of the country. Here, in a city called Calabria, there are many opportunities for investment, including some of the best holiday homes for UK buyers. Overseas investors also find that this region offers opportunities.

These particular developments will be Energy Star qualified, including the way that their construction is designed. They will be affordable and easy to heat in the winter and easy to keep cool in the summer. They are also affordable when compared to similarly sized and located properties. These new villas will run to about £169,000.

Property investors in the Italian market commonly find second homes, buy to let opportunities and other opportunities well worth investing in.
