Property conservation experts approved for UK NewBuy scheme

Renowned for its inspirational restoration work on historic properties, City & Country also specialise in creating complementary new homes on many of its developments.

Faced with a tough mortgage market and slow housing sector, the government backed NewBuy scheme makes buying a new home much more accessible to many new home buyers.

The scheme has effectively re-introduced 95% mortgages back in to the market, meaning that buyers only need a 5% deposit to secure a new home within City & Country’s historic developments.

Amongst the new properties eligible under City & Country’s NewBuy scheme, is a selection of stylish one and two bedroom apartments at The Galleries development in Brentwood, Essex.

The firm said that the apartments at The Galleries are ideally suited to purchasers who can benefit from the NewBuy scheme, not only meeting the demand for superior build quality and high level specification in modern homes, but with the added appeal of living in a grand environment, surrounded by landmark historic buildings.

The properties include contemporary linear kitchens offering high gloss finishes, and stylish modern bathrooms and shower rooms with modern and eye catching tiles and sanitary ware. Furthermore, the homes provide an enviable location adjacent to private woodland and overlooking the beautiful gardens.

‘We are delighted to have qualified as a NewBuy developer, and be able to offer our customers the opportunity to live within one of our prestigious developments with a relatively small deposit,’ said Mandy Soames sales and marketing director at City & Country.

‘We appreciate that many first time buyers and those looking for their second home are struggling to secure the funding they need to allow them to buy a home they really want, so the NewBuy scheme is a great way for City & Country to lend our customer a helping hand on to and up the property ladder,’ she explained.

‘As a specialist developer, our homes are carefully and sympathetically designed within Listed and historic properties, creating a seamless blend of old and new,’ she added.
