Final homes set to be released for sale at Ryhope development

Bellway North East is set to release the final homes for sale at its Burdon Rise development in Ryhope, Sunderland.

The housebuilder is building 109 four and five-bedroom houses at the site off Burdon Lane, with more than 85 per cent of the properties now sold.

There are currently seven homes available to reserve, with a further seven due to be released for sale in the final phase. Among the final homes available to purchase is the four-bedroom Plane showhome.

Emma Chesterton, Sales Director for Bellway North East, said: “Burdon Rise has been a popular development since its launch in 2019, and we have seen a sustained level of interest throughout due to the growing need for new housing in the area.

“The site’s popularity also has a lot to do with its picturesque location near the coast and its proximity to Sunderland city centre.

“This final release of homes will allow us to welcome more residents to our development and to the local community already forming here. We’re looking forward to the final properties being ready to move into next summer, when construction work is scheduled to draw to a close.”

As well as providing new homes, Burdon Rise is also bringing £1.5 million investment from Bellway as part of the planning agreement for the development. This includes over £730,000 for affordable housing to be built in the local area.

Other contributions include £311,195 towards education in the local area, £76,409 going towards children’s play space, and £201,323 towards the Ryhope to Doxford Park Link Road, as well as just under £220,000 for ecology and wildlife habitats.

Green open space is being delivered within the development including a footpath which follows the perimeter of the site.

Emma continued: “The properties we have on offer at this development are perfect family homes and complement the surrounding area nicely.

“Residents have access to a choice of well-regarded schools within walking distance, making this site ideal for families with young children, while older children can benefit from secondary schools only a short drive away, and Sunderland College and Sunderland University are both just a 10-minute drive from the development.

“With the city centre being so close by, residents at Burdon Rise can benefit from the array of high street shops, sports facilities, cinemas and concert halls found there.

“In the other direction, the A19 is only two miles down the road and gives residents a direct route to Hartlepool, Stockton and Middlesbrough.”

There is currently a selection of four and five-bedroom properties available to purchase at Burdon Rise, with prices starting from £354,995.
