First Homes on Bedworth Site Go On Sale in 2022

The first homes in a new neighbourhood which is transforming a former colliery site in Bedworth are set to be released for sale early next year.

Bellway is delivering 169 new homes at Astley Fields, off Astley Lane, on the site of part of the former Newdigate Colliery, with the first properties aiming to go on the market in February, when a sales office is due to open on site.

Astley Fields will be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses, comprising 127 private homes for sale and 42 affordable homes, which will include some one-bedroom apartments, available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

More than a third of the 28-acre site will be public open space, including a children’s play area and cycle paths.

Marie Richards, sales director of Bellway West Midlands, said: “We have already started construction at Astley Fields and work is on schedule to open the sales centre on site in early 2022.

“We are also planning to open two showhomes at the development in the spring, which will showcase the high-quality homes being delivered here from Bellway’s flagship Artisan Collection.

“Astley Fields is a transformative development that is providing much-needed new homes to the area and giving a new lease of life to this historic site, which was once home to part of Newdigate Colliery.

“We’ve seen a great deal of interest in the development already as people in the area look to be part of this exciting new community in Bedworth.”

Bellway’s Artisan Collection is a range of homes which combine traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail with modern construction techniques, with the designs developed on the back of decades of customer feedback.

Plans for Astley Fields were approved by Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council in May this year.

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway will be investing more than £2.83 million into local infrastructure and facilities.

Marie said: “In line with the planning agreement, Bellway is heavily investing back into local services by making financial contributions towards education, hospitals, sports facilities and bus service improvements in Bedworth.

“Astley Fields is Bellway’s latest development in Warwickshire and follows ongoing success at Royal Park in Nuneaton, so we are looking forward to releasing the first selection of new homes for sale here in Bedworth.”

Prices at Astley Fields are yet to be confirmed
