First-time buyer homes to launch in Chelmsford

Property prices in Chelmsford postcodes have outpaced the national average by 30% for the start of 2022, with the cost of the average newbuild home now valued at £446,000 in the area.*

Meeting the demand for affordable first-time buyer homes in Chelmsford, L&Q will launch the next phase of eleven two- and three-bedroom Shared Ownership terraced houses at The Arbour, a growing residential quarter within the thriving Beaulieu neighbourhood, on 9th April. Set to launch on 16th April, L&Q will release four additional three-bedroom Shared Ownership homes elsewhere in the new Beaulieu development, at L&Q at Beaulieu.

Set within 176 acres of green open space, Beaulieu is a joint venture development between L&Q and Countryside. The site will ultimately provide 3,600 mixed tenure homes, sports and health facilities and retail opportunities across an impressive 610-acre site, as well as a new school to cater for families moving to the area.

Claire Brenlund, Sales and Marketing Director for L&Q comments, “We are pleased to be launching our Shared Ownership homes for our growing community at Beaulieu, all of which come with sought-after private outdoor space.

Our two Spring launches offer an exciting opportunity for first-time buyers to get a slice of life in a growing neighbourhood which has already been incredibly popular with local purchasers. With two- and three-bedroom homes available, the new collections cater for single buyers, couples and families alike. New residents will enjoy convenient access to local facilities such as a health centre, restaurants, shops, community centre and a newly opened all-through school all located a short walk away at Beaulieu Square.”

All Shared Ownership homes at Beaulieu are built to L&Q’s New-build Quality Standard promise which guarantees high-specification homes without hidden additional costs. Contemporary kitchens are complete with fully integrated appliances including an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine as well as soft close doors and drawers. Throughout, sizeable living and bedrooms feature large windows, meaning rooms are airy and bright.

Beaulieu is the perfect setting for residents to enjoy a leisurely, outdoor lifestyle with playparks, bridleways, landscaped grounds and extensive open spaces all on the doorstep. Beyond the outdoor areas on site, Chelmsford itself is home to over 20 parks, making the development well-suited to family buyers seeking additional space amid beautiful green surroundings.

Granted city status in 2012, Chelmsford’s buzzing centre is just a short drive away. Offering a wealth of entertainment and leisure opportunities, the city provides an array of cafes, tantalising restaurants and entertaining bars as well as excellent schools and first-rate sports facilities. Plus, the redeveloped shopping district is home to larger retailers including The White Company, Maman Bébé and a flagship John Lewis store. A nod to Chelmsford’s history, the 800-year-old market offers everything from fresh food and flowers to clothes.

Well-connected for commuters, Chelmsford Railway Station runs regular services to London Liverpool Street in just 34 minutes. Plus, a new bus route links Beaulieu with Chelmsford City Centre and Chelmsford Rail Station, and all residents will be entitled to a year’s free travel. Beaulieu is also set to benefit from its own train station, making the daily commute even easier. By car, the A12 which connects the Beaulieu to the South offers direct connection to the M25 and London to the West.
