Exciting times are ahead to transform the former magistrate’s buildings in Feltham. The development will create the three buildings into 28 luxury residential homes, including one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. Currently 60% have already been reserved or sold, with a selection of one bedroom and three bedroom flats still available under a shared ownership scheme with list prices starting from £354,950.
The developer, MCR Property Group is planning to create a modern-day landmark building. They are taking a unique approach in their distinctive design for this locally significant building to complement its heritage and convert the space in a sympathetic way. The new luxury homes will offer a mixture of old and new, built for comfortable living, and suited to different buyers looking to move into this upcoming western part of the Hounslow borough.
Originally built in 1902, the Feltham local landmark started life as the Town Hall, but was converted four years later into a magistrate’s court, then registered as a juvenile court between 1933 and 1979. It continued to be used as a magistrate’s court until 2013, finally closing in 2016. In 2019, MCR acquired the building and submitted development plans; successfully granting the building a reprieve from falling into disrepair and becoming derelict.
The Novus Apartments will be purpose-built properties delivering a modern, open-plan style of living to new residents, with particular emphasis on natural light and clean lines.
The Annex Building is another new purpose-built phase within the development comprising two apartments. Located to the rear of the development, both the one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments offer a more secluded living environment directly behind The Novus Apartments.
Feltham, the largest town in the borough’s western half, is home to a plethora of local amenities, a bustling high street with independent retailers, lots of vibrant cafes, bars and restaurants, generous open green space and parks all on the doorstep. All the larger high street names can be found in the centre of Feltham, which is a short walk away. A train into central London takes just over 40 minutes and only 10 minutes to Heathrow airport.
Set to become the next property hotspot, Hounslow Council is three years into ‘The Feltham Masterplan’, their extensive 15-year regeneration plan. They are focusing their efforts on broadening the appeal of the area to young professionals and families, as well as facilitating more affordable housing for everyone. The wide-ranging plan is based on a structured framework for the development and transformation of the local area.
Local residents and newcomers to the area can look forward to the rejuvenation of Feltham with improved road networks and parking, the creation and improvement of public transport and cycling routes, along with additional open spaces and pedestrianised zones. Overall, the visionary plan will create improved local infrastructure and attract further investment; all of which will boost the success of Feltham and its environs.
A 50% shared ownership scheme is available and completion of all units is scheduled for mid-December.
