Free event for property landlords will lay out the choices facing the market

Landlords are faced with three choices, delegates at a property seminar in Worcestershire will hear.

Property agents Nicol & Co are holding a free seminar for landlords on Thursday 8 December.

James Gwynne, lettings manager at Nicol & Co, said: “Landlords are facing serious challenges and have big decisions to make.

“Our Landlords Seminar is aimed at empowering them to make their decisions, based on an impartial and objective assessment of both the market and the financial climate.”

He will introduce the event with an overview of the market as seen by Nicol & Co, laying out the options facing landlords.

“Essentially, we believe landlords currently fall into three camps. Deciding which camp you are in, after an assessment of your own personal circumstances and medium-to-long term ambitions is crucial if you are to plan successfully.”

He outlined the three camps as:

  • Keep things as they are – wait and see
  • Look to review/refinance portfolio
  • Pull out of the market

The event will hear from Tony Archer and Jon Roberts of accountancy firm Ormerod Rutter, on the tax implications of each scenario, and from Michael O’Brien of Home of Mortgages on funding options.

He added: “In the face of a lot of speculation at present in the economy and the housing market, we are seeking to determine ‘which camp’ our investors and landlords are in, in addition to helping empower their decisions.”

Nicol & Co’s Landlords Seminar is on Thursday 8 December from 6pm at Platinum Hall, Crowle Parish Hall, Church Road, Crowle. To book a free place, contact [email protected] or call 01905 675999.
