Top designer to give city developments ‘exclusive tag’

The world's top designers are becoming involved in a variety or projects aimed at making the top-end of the construction market stand out from the competition and add value to developments.

The ultimate in luxury comes with the recent announcement that top French designer Ito Morabito has joined with top developers to offer interiors with a difference where investors can customize the design.

Many of the latest trends from key designers and interior companies are set to be showcased at a major exhibition in Dubai in May. Developments in the Middle East, in particular, are currently focusing on using exclusive designs as an unique selling point.

But the joint venture between Ito Morabito and Venture Investment Partners, an independent management group, and Progressive Finance & Equity, an international real estate company, gives buyers the ultimate in choice from an exclusive collection of 700 items including floor, carpet, chairs and even cutlery in a catalogue produced by his Paris based studio.

Together they have formed Luxury Housing & Resorts, based in Paris, to develop €500 million worth of projects in the residential sector over the next five years but it will also look at hotel, retail and office projects in the future.

'LH&R is in the process of undertaking several prestigious developments across the high-fashion city markets to take advantage of the need for branded and fully designed products,' said director Emmanuel Touraine. They are currently looking for locations in London, Paris, Tokyo, New York, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Madrid, Hong Kong, Dubai and Marrakech.

'The focus in the highly competitive residential construction market is shifting to high-end interior designs. More and more top-end housing projects are crafting bathrooms and kitchens as their unique selling proposition, as the trend towards open plan living now takes precedence' said Eckhard Pruy, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organisers of the ISH Kitchen and Bath Middle East exhibition at The International Exhibition Centre in Dubai which will highlight the latest trends.
