A leading national provider of Extra Care and Retirement Living has strengthened its presence across London following the successful acquisition of seven Extra Care schemes for older people.
Housing 21 has added an additional 427 properties to its portfolio after acquiring the Extra Care schemes from Notting Hill Genesis. The portfolio includes a large social care service and up to 300 employees who have successfully transferred and who will continue to provide high quality Extra Care support to residents.
The deal marks the largest transfer of Extra Care in the sector in recent years. Acquisitions form a key part of Housing 21’s growth and commitment to providing high quality housing with support or care for older people of modest means.
In conjunction with its acquisition plans, Housing 21 continues to prioritise investment into its existing homes while also delivering on its development plans to provide up to 400 new homes for older people each year.
The schemes included in the transfer include Elgin Close, Mildmays, Penfold Court, Conrad Court, Cheviot Gardens, Mitchison Court and Turnberry Court.
A further scheme, Minterne Apartments which comprises 60 apartments, will transfer from Notting Hill Genesis to Housing 21 in March.
