Chief exec of leading property investment company to address ADIT in Brazil

Gary Garrabrant, who founded Equity International with property mogul Sam Zell, will talk at the ADIT Invest event about the company’s prospects in the Brazilian market.

The three day event that takes place in Forteleza, Ceara, on May 10, is expected to attract
1,700 business people including over 100 international investors looking to do business and form partnerships with the most reputable developers, construction companies, hotel groups, tourism specialists, architects, lawyers and agents across the whole of Brazil.

In the previous five years the event has been known as Nordeste Invest but the name changed when ADIT Brasil became a national association representing businesses across the whole of Brazil and not just the Nordeste (North-West) region.

‘Professionals from the United States, Brazil and Europe come together to discuss the latest market trends affecting Brazilian real estate, identify investment opportunities and secure future business. In 2010 there was more than R$ 1.8 billion in prospect for business revenue. An extraordinary figure which we hope in 2011 will be exceeded,’ said Luiz Henrique Lessa, the new president of ADIT Brasil.

He said that the speech from Garrabrant will be a highlight of the event. ‘His presence will change the perception of those who still question Brazil as an investment destination. It will shed more light on the international investor experience and prove correct those who refer to Brazil’s current condition as the country’s golden age,’ said Lessa.

Equity International invests in and builds world class companies outside the United States, with a particular focus on identifying and initiating high growth sectors in the most compelling emerging markets.

It is recognized as a leading international investor and partner of choice, distinguished by an outstanding reputation, global capability and industry leading portfolio companies. EI has invested over $1 billion in 20 portfolio companies.
