London agency donates full property fee to youth charity

London-based estate agency House Collective has donated its entire commission from a recent Primrose Hill property sale to Mary’s Charity, a North London organisation supporting at-risk young people.

The donation will fund the charity’s programmes for young people facing school exclusion, involvement in the criminal justice system, or exposure to violence. The move comes as housing affordability pressures continue to affect communities across the capital.

Jonathan Brandling-Harris, director of House Collective, said: “Primrose Hill has given us a great deal, and giving our full fee to Mary’s Charity is our way of giving something back. We can’t fix this on our own, but we can show what’s possible.”

Corporate charity support

The donation follows research from the Charities Aid Foundation’s Corporate Giving Report 2026, which found that seven in ten businesses provided no support to charities last year. The agency’s decision reflects what it describes as its “Better, Collectively” approach to community engagement.

Mary’s Charity provides mentoring, education, counselling and safety support to young people. According to the organisation, it supported 3,453 young people in 2025, all of whom were either excluded from school or at risk of exclusion and affected by violence.

Jason Allen, director at Mary’s Charity, said: “Our programmes have achieved a 64% success rate in reducing aggression, with over 650 young people completing Level 1 and 2 accredited courses. When a local business stands alongside these young people, it helps save young lives.”

Industry context

The donation represents a departure from standard industry practice, where estate agency fees typically range from 1% to 3% of property sale prices in prime London areas. While charitable initiatives remain relatively uncommon in the property sector, some agencies have begun exploring community engagement strategies alongside their commercial operations.

House Collective has encouraged other property businesses to support local causes through financial contributions, volunteering, or professional expertise sharing. The agency operates in Primrose Hill, one of North London’s higher-value residential markets.
