L&Q Launch New Homes at The Arbour, Chelmsford

On 12th February, L&Q is launching the latest collection of 20 one- to three-bedroom Shared Ownership homes at The Arbour, a sought-after new neighbourhood within Chelmsford’s award-winning residential district, Beaulieu.

The launch offers an exciting opportunity for aspiring homeowners to take their first steps onto the property ladder in Chelmsford, an area which has experienced a 7% growth in property prices over the last year.* Available exclusively through Shared Ownership, the development consists of one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as larger two- and three-bedroom terraced houses. With varying sizes and layouts available, a diverse range of buyers can take advantage of L&Q’s affordable offering at The Arbour.

Following two successful launches of homes at The Arbour in 2021, the new one- to three-bedroom homes will grow the mixed-tenure neighbourhood already delivered at Beaulieu, a joint venture between L&Q and Countryside. Once complete, Beaulieu is set to deliver 3,600 new homes, an array of new health and sport facilities, schools and a railway station, plus an impressive 610-acre landscape of green open space.

Andrea Palmer, regional head of sales for L&Q’s Counties region, comments: “After receiving extraordinary levels of interest for our previous launches of homes at The Arbour, we are pleased to be delivering a new phase of much-needed affordable housing to the local Chelmsford area. The new homes will prioritise people with a local connection, putting this property hotspot within reach of first-time buyers who cannot afford to buy outright.”

She added: “The latest phase offers the chance for all types of buyers to get a slice of life at The Arbour. Our new one and two bedroom homes are perfectly suited to young professionals or couples seeking larger living spaces, whilst the three bedroom homes offer a fantastic opportunity for local families looking to set down roots. The development is extremely popular with buyers who are keen to invest in an already thriving neighbourhood, with plans for even more new facilities and amenities to be delivered as the community grows.”

All Shared Ownership homes at The Arbour are built to L&Q’s New-build Quality Standard promise which guarantees high-specification homes without hidden additional costs. Contemporary kitchens are equipped with integrated appliances, including an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, and bathrooms are fitted with stylish chrome fixtures. Large windows flood the generous rooms with natural light whilst ample storage solutions allow for clutter-free living.

For those seeking the best of both worlds, The Arbour is perfectly located to provide easy access into buzzing Chelmsford, while also offering a unique community atmosphere in a neighbourhood surrounded by natural beauty. Situated within the historic parkland which was once the former summer residence of King Henry VIII, The Arbour’s picturesque green areas consist of natural meadows, sport pitches, allotments, community gardens and play areas, lending itself to the ultimate outdoor lifestyle.

Just three miles away, Chelmsford offers a wealth of independent cafes and enticing restaurants. The newly redeveloped shopping district is home to larger retailers including The White Company, Maman Bébé and a flagship John Lewis store, with an Everyman cinema on Bond Street showing the latest film releases.

Closer to home, Beaulieu is already a thriving new neighbourhood. Residents at The Arbour are a short walk away from the vibrant hub of Beaulieu Square with amenities including independent café, Coffee Squared, Beaulieu Beauty Rooms and Bright Horizon’s Day Nursery as well as Sainsbury’s Local, conveniently located just down the road from The Arbour.

Well-connected for London commuters, Chelmsford Railway Station runs regular services to London Liverpool Street in just 34 minutes. The new bus route links Beaulieu with Chelmsford City Centre and Chelmsford Rail Station, and all residents will be entitled to a year’s free travel. Beaulieu is also set to benefit from its own railway station, making the daily commute even easier. For those taking to the roads, the A12 which connects the Beaulieu to the South offers direct connection to the M25 and London to the West.
