LSL acquires Meyers franchise network in South Coast deal

LSL Estate Agency Franchising has acquired Meyers Franchising Limited, adding 10 franchise partners and six branches across Dorset and the South Coast to its network.

The deal brings the Meyers Estate Agent brand, which operates in Christchurch, Bournemouth, Weymouth, Poundbury, Sherborne and Shaftesbury, under LSL’s franchising operation. Meyers was founded in 2011 by Mark Meyer and expanded through a franchise model combining shared systems and branding with local ownership.

Strategic focus on lettings

LSL plans to invest in the acquired network with a focus on expanding lettings capability, an area the company has identified for development within the Meyers operation. The acquisition provides access to shared infrastructure and operational support for the franchise partners.

The move comes as the estate agency sector faces ongoing consolidation pressures. While some agencies have struggled financially, larger franchising groups continue to expand their regional presence. The lettings market has seen particular focus from operators, despite ongoing challenges in the buy-to-let sector.

Mark Meyer, founder of Meyers Estate Agents, said: “I am incredibly proud of what we have built at Meyers over the years. Our success is down to the dedication of our franchise partners and their commitment to delivering outstanding service.”

Paul Hardy, managing director of LSL Estate Agency Franchising, said: “Meyers Estate Agents is a fantastic business with a strong reputation, a proven franchise model, and a highly engaged network of partners.”

Regional consolidation

The acquisition strengthens LSL’s presence along the South Coast, a region that has seen steady demand in both sales and lettings markets. The transaction follows a pattern of consolidation within the estate agency franchising sector, as larger operators seek to expand their geographical footprint and service offerings.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. LSL has indicated it will maintain the Meyers brand across the existing branch network.
