When they are finished with the development, Nakheel aims to have the island pulling in tourism figures of over 50,000 people residing on the island daily.
The last opportunity to purchase a unit at the highly coveted The Palm Jumeirah apartments has finally been released. The Palm Jumeirah apartments line the trunk of the development and are much sought-after due to a host of amenities including beachfront clubhouses. Other luxuries include swimming pools, retail outlets, fitness centers, and of course, direct access to the white sandy beaches which surround the property.
The Trunk is being considered the heart of the island and is actually connected by a monorail system. The obligatory world class hotels also line the length of the Trunk, along with shopping centers, cafes, and top notch restaurants. The location is already a center of activity with residents already residing in the 2,500 Shoreline Apartments. Nearly 1,500 families have taken up residence in the Shoreline Apartments, with an approximately total of 2,000 families living on the island at any one time.
Over the following weeks, all five of the private beachfront clubhouses will be opened. Two of the restaurants attached to the clubhouses include a Latino-style restaurant, and also one that is Australian themed. With an expectation that The Palm Jumeirah is going to become one of the world's premier resorts in the next three or four years, Nakheel is projecting that an average of nearly 25,000 hotel guests and 20,000 people will visit on a daily basis.
With a total of more than 40 five star hotels and resorts on The Palm Jumeirah, including Atlantis and Trump International Hotel & Tower, the island is truly aiming for luxury at all levels, throughout the entire property. There are also plans for other developments and features such as marinas around the island, and also a theatre specifically built for a Cirque du Soleil show in permanent residency.
