Mixed-used development to bring new homes to Orpington High Street

Plans to bring 40 new luxury flats to established Orpington High Street, have taken a step forward after boutique property developer Life Less Ordinary confirmed that the London Borough of Bromley had approved plans to create a stunning 4/5 storey mixed use development.  Construction will start within the next month.

Located in the heart of Orpington’s vibrant high street, the new development will sit alongside an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and bars and is within easy walking distance of Orpington Station.  The beautiful green space of Priory Gardens is also close-by as are several historical attractions.  The nearby Orpington GPO restaurant and bar has already confirmed that it will occupy the new 40,000sq ft retail space for use as a florists, butchers, and coffee shop.

Speaking of the approved planning decision, Director of Life Less Ordinary, Rinay Chawda said:

“Orpington offers the perfect mix of being just 15 minutes from central London by train, whilst also on the outskirts of North Kent.  Its high street is a bustling mix of restaurants and bars with much of its retail offer currently subject to investment and regeneration.  This development will not only bring much-needed new homes to the area, but also contribute to that ongoing regeneration.

“Our plans will deliver 40 standout homes across a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments each benefitting from bespoke German kitchens, stylish bathrooms and their own private balconies, together with shared landscaped amenity space.”

Life Less Ordinary anticipates a build programme of 18 months with sales being launched during Summer 2024.
