New Homes Planned for Cardiff Regeneration Hotspot

Dandara has recently acquired a new site in Cardiff, which will house its new Sant Silian development. Coming in Autumn 2022, the development will provide 145 new two, three and four-bedroom family homes on Bridge Road, less than a mile away from Cardiff Gate Retail Park.

Dandara’s newest division Wales & West is behind the project, and planning is already underway. The site is set across circa 9.5 acres of land, with some small demolitions planned for April, and construction due to begin shortly after.

Martin Smith, managing director at Dandara Wales & West, comments: “This is an exciting opportunity to help meet the considerable housing needs of Wales, and Cardiff in particular. This site will create plenty of new local employment opportunities, as we plan to use locally sourced staff, sub-contractors and materials to ensure that we remain a sustainable business, supporting the Welsh economy.”

The new development will be set in a rural location with all the necessary amenities on residents’ doorsteps. Cardiff Gate Retail Park offers a variety of supermarkets, shops, gyms, cafés, and restaurants, all within a short walk. Sant Silian will be a part of a wider development plan, which will include a local school, allotments, and a riverside park, bringing new life and a sense of community to this up-and-coming area of Cardiff.

Sant Silian will also have easy access to the stunning Welsh countryside. Just on the other side of the M4, the Rhymney Trail will offer residents a break from the city, with vast green space and fresh air. Young families will have access to a great choice of schools. For youngsters, Busy Bees Nursery is at Cardiff Gate, while Prontprennau Primary School is just a short 5-minute drive away. Older children will have several options, including Corpus Christi Catholic High School and St Telio’s Church in Wales High School.
