Bellway is delivering a further 201 homes at the East Middle Callerton neighbourhood in Westerhope after plans for phase two were approved by the local authority.
The development – to be known as Westburn – will follow the success of Callerton Rise where many of the 141 new homes have already been built and sold.
Westburn and Callerton Rise are both part of the wider East Middle Callerton neighbourhood, which is earmarked for up to 600 new homes on land allocated as a Neighbourhood Growth Area.
Tracey Brady, managing director for Bellway North East, said: “Construction work on the Westburn development is set to start imminently following this planning consent. This development is delivering a good mix of new housing to Westerhope, with 17 different house types and 31 affordable homes included in the plans – all of which are part of Bellway’s Artisan Collection. Callerton Rise is also in an excellent location within the wider development with existing woodland bordering the north of the site and Westerhope Golf Club to the south east.”
The site for Westburn is approximately 25 acres in size and is known as phase four within the wider scheme.
The development will be a mix of houses, including 46 two-bedroom homes, 86 three-bedroom designs and 69 four-bedroom properties.
Out of the 31 affordable homes, 21 will be allocated for affordable rent and 10 will be sold as discount market value homes.
Tracey said: “Westburn is a natural progression at the site with hybrid planning permission for the wider development already in place, including at our existing Callerton Rise scheme.”
