Toronto sees rise in downtown condominium listings

Toronto, Canada

Toronto, Canada, is seeing a major increase in condominium listings in the downtown area compared to the city as a whole, a report from real estate agency Zoocasa has found.

New rental listings in condo buildings in downtown Toronto grew by 257% year-on-year, compared to 83% in the city.

It’s a similar case when looking at condos for sale. For sale listings rose by 108% year-on-year in June, compared to 36% in the City of Toronto as a whole.

Emma Pace, a Zoocasa agent in downtown Toronto, said: “As a growing number of workplaces allow remote-working options despite COVID-19 restrictions easing, more prospective buyers are considering living along the perimeter of the downtown area instead, in an effort to get a better price per square foot, and potentially more space.”
