Former Knight Frank directors establish Midlands consultancy

Two former senior leaders from Knight Frank’s land and development team have established a residential development consultancy based in Warwickshire.

Will Jordan and Charlie Steele have launched Ashlawn Chase in Henley-in-Arden, bringing nearly 40 years of combined experience in the Midlands property market. Jordan previously served as Head of Development at Knight Frank’s Birmingham office.

Director-led model

The consultancy is already advising on residential-led development opportunities across the Midlands, with instructions covering land disposals, acquisitions and development consultancy. According to the company, every instruction will be director-led.

Jordan said: “After many years advising across the Midlands market, we saw an opportunity to create a business that offers straightforward, commercially focused advice without unnecessary complexity. The market remains challenging and clients increasingly value direct access to experienced advisers who understand both the opportunities and the risks.”

The launch comes as startups across the property sector adapt to shifting market conditions. Steele noted that the pair have “always shared a similar approach to business, relationship-led, commercially grounded and focused on delivering results.”

Regional focus

While the Midlands will remain the firm’s core focus, Ashlawn Chase will also advise on opportunities nationally where required by clients. The company’s website states it was founded to “offer clear, honest and commercially astute advice in a market that often overcomplicates the process.”

The consultancy’s establishment reflects broader trends in the property advisory sector, where boutique firms are positioning themselves to offer more direct client access. This comes at a time when the residential property market faces regulatory changes and economic uncertainty affecting development activity.

The pair’s departure from Knight Frank adds to movement within the property consultancy sector as experienced professionals establish independent practices targeting regional markets.
