Reallymoving, the comparison site for home move services, has launched a podcast designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to get onto the property ladder or move house.
The ‘Make Your Move Podcast’ covers everything homebuyers need to know, from saving deposits and arranging mortgages to understanding surveys and planning moving day.
Presenter Andi Forsythe has seven years’ experience advising home movers via reallymoving’s ‘Help and Advice’ pages, and as an author of multiple homebuying guides.
She said: “Whether you’re saving for a deposit, hunting for your first property or trying to decide the best time to move up the ladder, the property market can be a daunting place.
“Headlines about national prices rising and falling can be confusing; what really matters is who’s buying a home, their personal circumstances and the kind of property they can afford to buy.
“We want to empower home buyers to feel more confident in their understanding of the market and figure out how to make their personal home moving goals achievable.”
Each 40+ minute episode tackles a big question facing homebuyers, guided by reallymoving’s expert hosts Andi Forsythe, Jeremy Greer and Lisa Hall, who are all themselves at different stages of the home ownership journey.
‘Mr Numbers’ Zach Griffin makes a regular appearance on the podcast, breaking complex property data down into bite-sized chunks and helping listeners understand what it means for them.
The first series, featuring guests such as Kate Faulkner OBE and Mortgage Advice Bureau’s Head of Lending Brian Murphy, kicks off with ‘Let’s Talk about the Bank of Mum and Dad’, delving into how to approach the conversation with parents or grandparents, the different options available such as gifted deposits and springboard mortgages – and what to do if you don’t have financial support to buy a home.
Episode Two explores ‘How to Play with Affordability’, followed by ‘Finding that Diamond Property in the Rough’ in Episode Three. Subsequent episodes will launch monthly.
