Rents grow anually despite monthly fall

The average UK rent is now £953 after rising by 2.7% in the year to October 2019, HomeLet’s rental index has revealed.

Five regions increased by over 3% – the North East (4.5%), North West (4.3%), Scotland (4.2%) and Yorkshire & Humberside (3.5%).

On a monthly basis things are looking less rosy however, as rents fell by -1.4% between October and September 2019.

They fell by -2.4% in the South East of England, as well as 1.7% in Greater London, East Midlands, West Midlands and Wales.
