The Welsh government has confirmed that the Help to Buy scheme has been extended in the country’s second Supplementary Budget 2024 to 2025.
The scheme was due to end in Spring, but it’s now being extended until September 2026.
To be eligible you must provide a 5% deposit, while the scheme provides an equity loan of up to 20% of the purchase price.
A Barratt spokeswoman said: “Currently, there is a growth agenda focused on housing delivery and the extension of Help to Buy Wales ensures that we can support first-time buyers to get onto the property ladder, especially in least affordable areas.
“It also enables new homes to maintain their competitive advantage over second hand homes.”
Some 132 homes have been purchased from Barratt using the scheme since 2021.
