Bristol-based housebuilder Bellway South West has agreed its largest-ever land deal to build new homes within a major new development to the north of Cribbs Causeway.
Work has now started on the new neighbourhood, where Bellway has purchased land to deliver 382 new homes, after plans were approved by South Gloucestershire District Council in late April.
The scheme, to be known as Berwick Green, is part of a larger 760-home project being delivered in conjunction with Taylor Wimpey.
The scale of the whole project brings with it a significant investment in local infrastructure. A total of £12.5 million will be paid towards a range of services including education and highways.
Bellway’s part of the development will involve the construction of a range of homes to suit a variety of buyers, with two-bedroom apartments as well as two, three, and four-bedroom houses for sale.
Tim Lund, Sales Director for Bellway South West, said: “Berwick Green represents the largest land purchase we have ever made in the South West as a division, and will make a significant contribution towards meeting the need for new housing in the area.
“The wider development will also see investment of more than £12 million into local infrastructure and facilities.
“This is a highly sustainable location for new housing, just north of Cribbs Causeway and its great range of shops and leisure facilities, and less than a mile from Junction 17 of the M5, while Bristol city centre is just seven miles away.
“We’ll be providing a good mix of high-quality properties, with a range of spacious houses from our flagship Artisan Collection as well as a selection of stylish apartments.
“With construction now underway we anticipate releasing the first homes for sale later this year.”
Bellway’s Artisan Collection has been developed on the back of decades of customer feedback and combines traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail with modern construction techniques.
