Zoopla acquires new homes portal Newhomesforsale.co.uk

Zoopla has acquired Newhomesforsale.co.uk, a UK property portal specialising in new-build homes, in a transaction aimed at expanding its presence in the new homes market.

The acquired platform will continue operating as a standalone brand under its current leadership team, according to a statement from Zoopla chief executive Paul Whitehead.

Portal operations and market position

Founded in 1998, Newhomesforsale.co.uk works with over 200 developer clients, including nine of the UK’s ten largest housebuilders. The portal currently lists approximately 2,500 active developments and generates around 170,000 leads annually for developers, connecting more than one million buyers with new-build properties.

The UK new homes sector delivers more than 180,000 homes annually, with developers increasingly utilising digital marketing channels to track returns on investment, according to Zoopla.

Recent performance data

Zoopla reported a 53% year-on-year increase in new homes lead volumes, following recent partnerships with major developers including Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes. The company has been developing new tools for the sector, including search features, affordability calculators and AI-driven campaign optimisation.

“They have built a respected and highly specialised business that consistently delivers high-intent leads, strong conversion rates and strong ROI for home builders,” Whitehead said of the acquired business.

Mark Hincks, Director of Newhomesforsale.co.uk, stated: “Our focus has always been to connect developers with high-intent buyers and deliver a clear return on marketing investment. Joining Zoopla unlocks audience data, insights and innovation that will allow us to deliver even more value for our customers.”

Market implications

The acquisition consolidates Zoopla’s position in the new homes sector, which represents a distinct segment of the UK property market. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The deal follows a trend of portal consolidation in the UK property sector, as platforms seek to expand their market coverage and service offerings to developers and housebuilders seeking digital distribution channels.
