On 44 to 46 High Street in Daventry, there used to be the town’s NatWest. The bank closed in 2017, leaving a very impressive building empty for the better part of a decade. In 2025, the decision was finally put forward to make use of the building with Grade II listed frontage, turning it into a nightlife entertainment venue. In spring 2026, the newest addition to the town is set to open, featuring poker, low-stakes roulette, and slots.
A Stacked and Unique Venue
Not long after the new owners won the bid to take over 44-46 High Street, they laid out their plans to focus on skill-based card gaming but also offer low-stakes pure chance games. Included in this selection will be the casino classic roulette, which makes sense, given its popularity.
You only have to look as far as live roulette online to measure the demand. What was once a focus on the traditional game has exploded into a huge selection of variants. To further increase the appeal in these live-streamed, authentic roulette games, the minimum bets have been reeled in. Games like Mega Fire Blaze Roulette Live, Spin & Win Roulette Live, and Instant Roulette Live take bets of £0.20 or £0.10. Low-stakes roulette will make a fine addition to a section of the gaming area dedicated to chance.
Slot machines will also be a feature of this area, again, because of how popular the game type is now. Initial plans, however, noted that this would be a subsection of what is primarily a card gaming floor. Poker will be the primary draw of the venue, with tables running different rule sets and pot sizes. This then opens the possibility for locals to come and partake in regular tournaments, which is often a big draw for poker players. With the potential for it to remain a 24-hour gaming hall, those tight poker battles could run as long as is needed.
Opening in Daventry this Spring

Initially, the plans to convert the bank were labelled as the town getting a new 24-hour casino. This conjured up images of rows of slots, tables of blackjack, roulette, and maybe even craps. Instead, the focus will be on card gaming, but the new name of the venue won’t really give that away. Even so, there’ll be a lot in here to enjoy as a card enthusiast and if you just want somewhere nice to visit on a night out in the town.
Around the gaming floor, patrons will get to visit the small bar and lounge area, where they’ll get to watch live sports. Plus, there’ll be a kitchen on the go, with a dedicated dining area ready to offer you a refuelling whenever you need. There’s going to be a lot going on in this old bank, but thankfully, there aren’t any plans to alter the outward aesthetic of the building.
Plans submitted from the beginning stated that there wouldn’t be any physical changes made to the building. Signage will be kept with the current building style and heritage of what’s there now. So, while there will be some banners to let people know what the venue is, the Grade II listed frontage will be respected and left structurally unchanged. Main structural works were completed in February, with the decorations moving forward as planned.
Later this spring, people across Daventry and beyond will be invited to experience the town’s newest all-in entertainment venue.
