Winkworth has appointed Jack Spellman as its Franchise Operations Lead, a role that will see him work directly with the estate agency’s network of more than 100 franchisees across the UK.
Spellman brings experience from multiple property sector roles, having started in estate agency in his early 20s at a family-run operation before moving to London to work at LiFE Residential, a subsidiary of Galliard Homes.
Following a relocation to the Midlands, he spent three years as Lettings Director at John Shepherd, part of The Lomond Group, before joining Winkworth.
Operational focus
The new role will require Spellman to divide his time between Winkworth’s head office and field visits to franchisees, focusing on operational support and communication across the network.
“The culture at Winkworth is very open, with a strong family-centric feel,” Spellman said. “I also relish the opportunity to work with so many franchisees to understand their local market pressures and operational challenges, and to support their ongoing success.”
The appointment comes as property sector firms continue to announce senior appointments to strengthen operational capabilities amid changing market conditions.
Dominic Agace, Chief Executive at Winkworth, said Spellman’s experience would be “fundamental to the success and strength” of the franchise network. He added that the role was “key” to maintaining collaboration and support within the Winkworth model.
The franchise operations position represents a strategic focus on franchisee support at a time when estate agents face ongoing challenges from fluctuating market conditions and mortgage rate changes.
Winkworth operates as a franchise model with offices across the UK, offering residential sales and lettings services through independently owned franchised branches.
