Strettons appoints Olivia Boulting as auction director

London property firm Strettons has appointed Olivia Boulting as director and auctioneer in a newly created role designed to expand the company’s auction operations.

Boulting, who is known in the industry as ‘Queen of the Gavel’, joins from Auction House UK where she managed teams across offices in Bristol, Devon and Cornwall. She has appeared on the BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer programme and co-hosts The Auction Edit podcast, which focuses on developments in the property auction sector.

Industry involvement

Boulting sits on the advisory board of NAVA (Propertymark) and currently chairs the Plymouth Area of Property Professionals Association (PAPPA). The appointment comes as estate agencies navigate increased regulatory requirements and market pressures.

In her new position, Boulting will work on developing Strettons’ auction department whilst managing client relationships throughout the auction process. The move represents an expansion of the firm’s auction capabilities at a time when UK property sales have shown volatility in recent months.

Andrew Brown, director and auctioneer at Strettons, said: “Olivia is one of the most recognisable auctioneers in the business and we are delighted she has chosen to join us. She has built a genuine following across the South West and beyond, not only through her impressive sale results but also through her commitment to engaging a wider audience and promoting a greater understanding of the auction market.”

Boulting stated: “I was attracted by the combination of Strettons’ heritage, specialist property knowledge and forward-looking approach. Property is ultimately a people business, and Strettons’ emphasis on relationships, trusted advice and delivering results strongly reflects how I like to work.”

The appointment signals Strettons’ intention to strengthen its position in the property auction market, particularly in building connections beyond its London base into regional markets where Boulting has established a professional presence.
