A guided tour around the Republic of Cape Verde – Part 2, Boa Vista

Meaning "good view" in Portuguese, the third largest island, Boa Vista was discovered in 1460. The closest island to Africa (445km west of Senegal), Boa Vista is an island paradise ringed by reefs and home to 60% of Cape Verde's beaches including it's longest beach at 18km. The island is known as a hot spot for marine turtles and for its traditional music. The capital of Sal Rei in the North West offers a selection of superb restaurants as well as bars, beaches and water sports activities.

Property Market:

Boa Vista has a new international airport just opened and is growing as the next beach and holiday island destination for Cape Verde. Sal Rei is the main town of Boa Vista and there are developments emerging on Estoril Beach and Cabral Beach. Chaves Beach is a stunning location set just to the south of Sal Rei with a new RIU all inclusive hotel opening later in the year. The new direct flights from the UK, starting in November, are also set to open up the tourist market for Boa Vista. We expect capital appreciation to strengthen as the tourism infrastructure on Boa Vista grows.

Properties on Boa Vista vary from studios from 45,000 euros and 1 beds from 60,000 euros to beachfront villas from 600,000 euros.
