New MD and bigger office for Barratt Homes North Midlands

The news coincides with the announcement that the company increased sales to £46.3 million and legally completed 289 homes during the six months in the run up to December 2012.

The new managing director is former finance director, John Dillon, who has 19 years experience in the home building industry and who takes up the position after five years with the company.

With plans for continued growth, the company moved to a brand new office in January. The new headquarters has provided 16,000 square feet of accommodation for the 90 office employees. The division, which builds on up to 25 sites at any one time, has over 200 directly employed employees in addition to the subcontractor workforce.

‘I'm honoured to be picking up the helm from my predecessor Mark Wright who led the company to such great success over the past few years. I have arrived a particularly important time for the industry, as the government announces plans to boost the housing market with the new Help to Buy scheme. This is fantastic news for homebuyers who have a limited availability of finance, as they can now step on to or move up the property ladder with a new build home,’ said Dillon.

‘At Barratt Homes we not only deliver outstanding homes in top locations; we're also committed to creating vibrant and welcoming communities at each and every one of our developments. Coupled with the exceptional levels of customer care we offer and our exclusive five year warranty, we really do offer a service which none of our major competitors can match,’ he explained.

‘As a division we have outperformed our sales expectations and I think this is down to our great product range which incorporates thoughtful designs suited for modern, versatile living. I'm looking forward to capitalising on our core strengths to ensure we are the homebuilder of choice for homebuyers across the North Midlands,’ he added.
