Colliers International takes out top gong

The firm took home two prestigious awards on the night – Commercial Agency of the Year  as well as Commercial Salesperson of the Year.

Simon Beirne, State Chief Executive at Colliers International, said despite a difficult year for the Queensland property market, Colliers agents had been leaders in their field.

"Winning a prestigious award such as this for the second year in a row confirms what we've been doing is right."

"The staff's commitment, passion and drive are behind this," said Mr Beirne.

Colliers International faced stiff competition – pitted against finalists CB Richard Ellis and Ray White Surfers Paradise.

"These awards have fired us up to continue to deliver on our focus to constantly exceed client's expectations through service excellence, team strategies and knowledge," said Mr Beirne.

"These accolades are fantastic – but the real satisfaction comes from the look on clients faces when we exceed their expectations."

Real estate executive Joseph Dean, who was recently promoted to Director of Office Leasing – Brisbane, at Colliers International, was named REIQ Commercial Salesperson of the Year.

The award has been in recognition of his involvement in a number of major project leasing commitments in the Brisbane CBD over the past two years.

Mr Dean said leasing activity is healthy in the Brisbane CBD office market despite the doom pervading the economy generally.

"While businesses are taking more precaution to make a move, transactions are still taking place."

"We've had time to adapt to the new conditions and we've increased market share," he said.

Mr Dean's influence on the Colliers International Office Leasing team has enabled them to gain a strong hold on the premiere CBD developments in Brisbane including Northbridge, 545 Queen Street and One One One Eagle Street – to name a few.
