The event is one of many initiatives through which the company seeks to achieve its target of 20 per cent Emiratisation by the end of 2009.
The 2009 Careers Show is being held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, from March 29-31, 2009.
At the exhibition, Deyaar will have a 72-square metre stand, where it will showcase its various initiatives for students and job seekers, including work placement and internship opportunities.
"At Deyaar, we recognise the importance of developing young talent, not just for our company, but for good of the larger community," said Markus Giebel, Chief Executive of Deyaar. "As one of the UAE’s leading companies and a responsible corporate entity, Deyaar has always strived to hire and develop the best local talent. This is reflected in the number of UAE nationals involved with Deyaar, which currently stands at 10 per cent of our workforce.
"For 2009, our aim is to increase the number of nationals in the company to 20 per cent of our workforce. As a company, Deyaar provides excellent opportunities for professional and personal growth. Events such as this provide an ideal platform for us to present our latest training and development opportunities to the best talent in the country and enable us to meet our objectives for Emiratisation.
In 2007, Deyaar introduced its "Noor" scholarship programme that is extended to 20 meritorious students at Dubai’s premier education institutions every year as part of its social responsibility goals. "Noor" is also the only corporate scholarship programme of its kind that does not demand any future work commitments from the students its sponsors.
"This year, we are continuing to adopt best HR practices in line with our training and development objectives. These include compulsory staff training to increase productivity, creation of "Deyaar Cares" a benevolent fund to provide financial aid to needy staff members and further automation of HR processes and services" said Giebel.
For the 2009 edition of the annual Careers Show, Deyaar is looking for young talent to join one of its six departments, including Projects and Engineering, Finance, International Business Development, Internal Audit, Property Management and Operations.
