Deyaar introduces pioneering scholarship programme with Dubai Women’s College

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Deyaar and DWC, the company announced its commitment to offer annual scholarships for 10 national students, covering all their education-related expenses for the lifetime of the scholarship.

The scholarships may be renewed on a yearly basis for those students who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or above by the end of each academic year, without any future work commitments.

The scholarships offered by Deyaar are open to all DWC students who have enrolled on a full-time basis for at least two consecutive semesters, including all disciplines available within the Higher Diploma and Bachelor programmes.

"Founded nearly two decades ago, DWC stands at the forefront of educational provision in the UAE, providing young women with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in the country's increasingly globalised workplace," said His Excellency Nasser Bin Hassan Al-Shaikh, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Finance and Chairman of Deyaar. "We are extremely pleased to offer our support to an exceptional group of Emirati students at DWC, providing them with the freedom to focus on their studies and prepare for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead."

"This initiative by Deyaar is an excellent example of the type of corporate social responsibility that we need more of in Dubai," said Dr. Howard Reed, Senior Director at the Higher Colleges of Technology and Director of DWC. "I am sure the company's generosity will be greatly appreciated by our students."

Founded in 1989, DWC offers courses in Business, Information Technology, Health Science, Communication Technology and Education. The College's more than 2,900 graduates include some of the first national women to be selected to head important departments in Dubai and to take on leading roles in multinational companies based in the emirate.
