Proptech firm Street has launched Cortex, an AI-driven customer interface designed to automate client communications for estate agencies.
The tool generates personalised emails to entire client databases simultaneously and processes responses automatically. It updates agent records with information from customer emails and can schedule property viewings without human intervention.
Pricing and functionality
Cortex is priced at £149 per month for basic functionality, with additional pricing tiers planned as the product rolls out. The system operates exclusively with Street’s CRM platform, requiring agencies to have that infrastructure in place.
Tom Staff, co-founder at Street, said the tool responds to customer emails instantly at any time and can include personalised elements such as references to clients’ holidays. “This allows agents to actually do those things that in an ideal world, they’d love to be doing,” he stated.
Staff reported that one agent who tested the system remarked it “literally changes everything about the way we run our business”. Agencies can decide whether to disclose to clients that communications originate from an AI system.
Company background
Street Group’s portfolio includes its CRM system and Spectre, a marketing platform. In 2024, co-founders Tom and Heather Staff were included in The Times’ Top 50 most ambitious business leaders list.
The launch comes as the property sector continues to adopt technology solutions to address operational challenges, particularly amid ongoing pressures in the UK housing market. The automation of client communications represents a shift in how agencies manage customer relationships, though questions remain about client preferences for human versus automated interactions.
The tool’s impact on agency efficiency and client satisfaction will become clearer as adoption increases across the sector.
