Mark Warner Property opens in Switzerland

‘Switzerland was the next logical step for Mark Warner Property. After a successful first year in Austria we were keen to expand into another stable and popular holiday home destination. Throw in world class ski resorts and chocolate box villages and you realise what an appealing proposition Swiss property is,’ said Mark Warner Property managing director Giles Gale.

‘Despite a recent slow down, the property market in Switzerland will continue to attract foreign investors searching for a safe place to store their wealth away from the economic uncertainty in southern Europe. The market is being supported by historically low borrowing costs with 10 year fix rate mortgages available at just 2.45%,’ he added.

Mark Warner Property's initial focus will be the Val d'Anniviers resorts of Grimentz, Zinal and St Luc where former Powder Byrne managing director Will Herrington is now heading up Mark Warner Property Switzerland.

With the construction of a new cable car linking the resorts of Grimentz and Zinal due to start in May and a new boutique hotel development beginning later this year, the company says that Grimentz is attracting astute buyers who are looking for better value than nearby Verbier in a more traditional setting.
