New partner at Thomas Eggar for rural business and estates

The appointment of James Pavey, a specialist in dispute resolution, strengthens the firm’s existing reputation in property and, in particular, it’s offering to the RBE sector.

Prior to joining Thomas Eggar LLP, James spent 12 successful years at Knights Solicitors, where he built a practice in property and public law dispute resolution.  He brings with him a wealth of experience of property, planning and environmental law, working for estates and farms, high net worth individuals and local authorities.

James is actively engaged in policy and draft legislation affecting property owners. He is a member of the Country Land and Business Association’s Legal, Parliamentary and Property Rights Committee and President of the Cambridge University Land Society.

Commenting on his new appointment, James said: “Thomas Eggar has an excellent reputation and I am delighted to be joining an ambitious team with a strong client base. The opportunity to help strengthen the firm’s property practice is an exciting prospect and, with experience of more unusual areas, such as public rights of way, waste planning and heritage property, I feel confident I can add to the established team”.

Richard Purcell, Partner and Head of the property team added: “I am absolutely delighted that James has joined the firm. He brings with him great experience, in particular of rural business and estates.  His enthusiasm and expertise will add to Thomas Eggar’s property offering. He is a highly regarded lawyer in this field and is very experienced in handling complicated and high value property disputes.”
